3RD INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE: Religious Extremism and Violence in Africa: Reviewing the Practice of Intervention & Inter-religious Dialogue.



On October 8 – 10 2018,we managed to participate at the international conference focusing in Peace and Security hosted at Hekima Institute of Peace Studies and International Relations (HIPSIR), Hekima University College, Nairobi, Kenya.

The key objective of the conference was to examine the strategies and responses applied to addressing religious extremism and violence, the extent to which they have been effective, the challenges they have faced and possible review of such strategies from political, security, economic, religious and socio-cultural perspective.
Through this conference, we managed to review strategies of response to religious extremism phenomenon and develop a comprehensive knowledge based understanding of the religious extremism which will not only help inform the academic scholarship but also national and international policies and decision makers in dealing with the problem hence contribute to the lessening of prejudices and tensions among religious communities and nations thus contribute to peaceful relations...
